European Summer School 2024

Review: The European Summer School 2024

For this year’s European Summer School (ESS), 25 Peer Educators from all over Europe came together at Alte Feuerwache in the center of Berlin.  Over the course of four days, they were able to network, share their knowledge, learn more about their role as Peer Educators, and more.
To get the participants prepared for their role as Peer Educators, they took part in various training sessions, e.g. introductions to the Europe, Social Justice and Media Crash Courses, a session on difficult classroom situations or how to create a training program. Further, a sensitivity workshop on antisemitism by the Competence Center for Critical Education and Research on Antisemitism was part of this year’s program.

Another highlight of the ESS 2024 was the keynote by Maja Nenadovic on depolarization at Kreuzberger Kinderstiftung. Participants were able to learn and discuss what Maja’s insights could mean for their work in classrooms.
The participants also had the great opportunity to be joined by two members of the Youth Peace Ambassadors Network (YPAN). Among other things, the YPAN members shared their knowledge on how to create “braver spaces” in educational settings.
With the end of the ESS 2024 the Peer Educators are now prepared for their local T4Ts and will start doing trainings themselves.
